Trout Candy is a finesse fishing spoon business located on the northern California coast, specializing in artisanal fishing lures. Each spoon is individually air brushed with powder paint, hand brushed with detail, then oven-cured to ensure a durable epoxy finish. As a family-owned and operated company, we take pride in crafting each spoon with intention…the kind of care you don't find in mass-produced tackle. Designs feature eye catching patterns and vibrant colors ranging from bright neons and holographic glitters, to more neutral tones that mimic natural prey. No two spoons are identical. We offer a variety of styles, shapes, and weights suitable for fishing lakes, oceans, rivers, and creeks. Though the company is named for trout, the spoons catch many species including salmon, steelhead, bass, bluegill, crappy, walleye, perch, cod, and a variety of trout species. New micro-finesse spoon sizes starting at 1/64 oz. perfect for fly-fishing as well as spin-fishing. We only use premium hardware on these spoons that are plated with black-nickel for rust resistance. Most of our trout spoons use Barbless Japanese Vanfook Expert Sickle Hooks. Vanfooks are noticeably stronger and sharper than other hooks on the market, and the sickle shape of the hook makes it lock in to the fish lip so you are less likely to get spit. The barbless hook ensures that if you plan to release your catch, there is minimal fish injury or impact in a responsible effort to preserve healthy populations. For our Salmon/Steelhead spoons, we use Gamakatsu “Big River” Barbed Sickle Hooks which are extremely sharp and strong to give the extra edge in fishing large game fish. Each item for sale has a description that includes hook details if you want to evaluate the hook type before purchasing.
